MUST READ: Dario Amodei's essay on the adolescence of technology.

We are not ready for what's coming. AI systems approaching human-level capability across all cognitive tasks — within a couple of years. Not decades. Not "someday." Now.

The technology will not stop because we're unprepared. If one company doesn't build it, others will. If democracies slow down, autocracies won't.

We don't get a do-over on this. The question isn't whether powerful AI arrives — it's how do we get ready on time.

Dario brilliantly outlines the risks that we are facing. Not as a doomsayer, more as a wake-up call. He also points to the decisions that must be made urgently. He is optimistic enough to say it is not too late. But it is clear that he is — and so should we be — worried.

Everyone can, must start addressing the most pressing risk: the lack of awareness. Get informed, spread the word, let's get ready.
